Setting up Virtual Reality (VR) for Roblox

Additionally, though not officially supported, other devices like Pico and Reverb can also be used through SteamVR.
How to Enable VR
To unlock the VR experience within Roblox, follow these simple steps after ensuring that you have Roblox installed (http://www.roblox.com/download):
Confirm that your VR device is properly connected to your PC and toggle VR Mode to “On” in the in-experience settings (Menu>Settings>VR>On). For more detailed instructions, refer to the “How to Toggle VR Mode” section below.
Install and configure the appropriate VR app for your device: either Oculus VR or Steam VR.
Setting up with Steam VR:
Compatible devices: HTC Vive, Valve Index, and other compatible peripherals
Begin by installing and opening the SteamVR app on your computer.
Enable OpenXR as the backend for SteamVR.
Turn on the VR controllers by pressing the System button until you hear a beeping sound. To turn them off, hold down the System button until you hear a beeping sound again.
Check that the status icons on the SteamVR app and the lights on the hardware are all green.
To access the System Dashboard, press the System button on either controller.
Please note: When you exit the SteamVR app, the controllers will automatically turn off. They will also power down if left idle for an extended period.
Now, select a Roblox experience to play and put on your VR headset to immerse yourself in the virtual world!
Setting up with Oculus VR:
Supported devices: Oculus Quest2 with Link, Oculus Rift, and compatible devices
Procure and unveil the Oculus Application on your computer.
Confirm that your VR device is connected and ready for use.
In the Oculus App, navigate to Settings > General and select OpenXR Runtime.
Choose a Roblox experience to play and put on your VR headset to dive into the action!
If you’re using Quest2 with a link cable, remember to enable the link feature from inside the headset.
To ensure your device is connected, do the following:
Access the Devices tab and locate your headset.
Confirm that the status is green, and there are no error messages displayed.
How to Toggle VR Mode
You have the flexibility to toggle VR Mode on or off while in the Roblox experience. Please be aware that the engine will need to restart for any changes to take effect. When VR Mode is disabled in the user settings, the engine will not start in VR.
To turn off VR Mode while playing:
Click on the Menu icon to bring up the In-Game Menu.
Choose the Settings option.
Disable the Virtual Reality (VR) feature and initiate a game restart.
To turn on VR Mode when it’s off:
Access the System Menu by pressing ESC on your keyboard or clicking the hamburger menu button in the upper left-hand corner of the screen.
Toggle the VR option to On and restart the game.
