Elon Musk's Funny Twist on Apple's Vision Pro Price Tag

Elon Musk took a light-hearted jab at the steep price of Apple’s recently unveiled mixed-reality headset, known as the Vision Pro. This new product marks Apple’s first major release in eight years.

Even for the world’s wealthiest individual, Elon Musk, the price tag of $3,499 for Apple’s Vision Pro headset appears to be exorbitant. Musk shared a meme on his Twitter account, humorously highlighting the augmented reality device’s cost. 

The meme featured an image comparing Apple’s headset to a bag of mushrooms, accompanied by the text: “Apple $3,500 augmented reality VS. $20 augmented reality.” This playful meme effectively underscored the significant difference in price.

Additionally, Musk later posted another meme that depicted a headset resembling Apple’s Vision Pro, hinting at the newly launched product in a humorous way.

Apple unveiled the Vision Pro as its first major product release in eight years. However, the high price has garnered criticism from many loyal Apple enthusiasts. 

During the announcement at the Worldwide Developer Conference, the audience’s reaction to the hefty price tag included groans, sighs, and laughter, as detailed by Insider’s Pete Syme. 

Videos capturing this collective response have since gone viral on various social media platforms, reflecting the audience’s surprise and amusement at the price.

It is worth noting that Elon Musk engaged in a public dispute with the prominent tech company late last year. In November, the Tesla CEO claimed that Apple had “mostly” ceased its advertising efforts on Twitter, tagging Tim Cook in his tweet.

 He further criticized Apple’s 30% App Store fee, characterizing it as a “30% tax on the Internet” and accompanied his statement with a photo suggesting a confrontational stance against the tech giant.

At the time of writing, representatives from Apple have not responded to Insider’s request for comment, which was made outside regular working hours.
