Introducing Jane Technologies' Cutting-Edge Point-of-Sale Platform for Cannabis Dispensaries

Jane Technologies has unveiled an innovative point-of-sale (POS) platform tailored for cannabis dispensaries, aiming to enhance the overall shopping experience. By providing reliable online listings and in-store curated shopping recommendations, the platform addresses the common frustration of customers discovering their desired strain is out of stock upon arrival at the dispensary. With Jane’s POS system, this setback can be overcome, leveraging the extensive e-commerce data catalogue to improve in-store retail operations.

The newly launched POS integrates seamlessly with Jane Technologies’ existing e-commerce and advertising solutions. Initially, the company focused on developing the back end for dispensaries’ e-commerce operations. Unlike envisioning a future where Amazon dominates the cannabis market, Jane Technologies believes in empowering neighbourhood dispensaries that also sell weed online. By powering both their online and physical stores, Jane aims to revolutionize the industry.

Jane’s POS platform offers a range of features, including a debit card payment system, custom hardware, and personalized shopping experiences. However, the true strength lies in the company’s commitment to providing accurate and comprehensive data assets. With 1.5 million SKUs already tracked, Jane’s system ensures that customers and shop owners can rely on up-to-date information. By relieving dispensary owners of the burden of inventory management, they can focus on selling weed while Jane’s platform handles the heavy lifting.

This innovative system brings a high level of customer personalization to dispensaries. By leveraging the regulatory requirements around cannabis, Jane Technologies capitalizes on the unique opportunity for retailers. When shoppers enter a dispensary, they are required to scan their government-issued ID, enabling the retailer to identify customers and their preferences. Jane’s new POS capitalizes on this process, providing budtenders with a list of previously purchased products and a selection of recommended items supported by verified reviews.

“In-store displays can now be tailored specifically for you,” explains Jane Technologies’ CEO, Socrates Rosenfeld. “Imagine a budtender who knows your preferences and purchase history, able to recommend curated personal items.”

While this level of personalization is common in online e-commerce, including Jane Technologies’ e-commerce platform, it is now successfully integrated into the retail environment, where recommendations play a vital role.

Jane Technologies claims that integrating the platform with a dispensary’s inventory can be accomplished within a few hours, a significant advantage over competitors who may take weeks to complete the transition due to the complex task of exporting product information, imagery, and government tracking IDs.

Moreover, the system allows for stand-alone kiosks resembling vending machines that prioritize speed and efficiency. Customers can browse and purchase products using a large touchscreen, eliminating the need for direct interaction with a retail associate.

Jane Technologies has been testing this system with three dozen partners in the Pacific Northwest, New Mexico, California, and Colorado. By the end of the year, the company plans to expand its POS platform to 400 retail locations, further solidifying its presence in the market.
